A Legionella risk assessment tells you what needs to be controlled. Monitoring proves that the controls are working, month after month. HSE guidance requires regular checks of water temperatures and system condition, carried out at set frequencies and properly recorded. Stravica delivers planned water hygiene monitoring programmes that keep your water systems under control, give you early warning when something changes, and provide the evidence you need to show compliance.

Our monitoring programmes are built directly from your risk assessment and written scheme of control, following the frequencies in HSG274.
Typical tasks include:
Every task is scheduled, tracked and accounted for, so nothing is missed.

Temperature control is the most common way to prevent Legionella growth, so every reading is checked against the correct standard:
Where your site uses alternative treatment, such as chlorine dioxide or copper-silver ionisation, we monitor the parameters that show it is effective.

Your compliance record is only as good as the readings behind it. Our operatives use calibrated digital thermometers and record every result at the point of work in time-stamped digital logs, never estimated and never copied forward. Stravica carries out regular data integrity checks and unannounced spot checks that re-take readings at outlets recently recorded. If an outlet could not be reached, we record exactly that, with the reason, and arrange a revisit within the monitoring interval.

When a temperature falls outside the acceptable range, we do not simply log it. The outlet is re-tested, the reading is recorded exactly as found, and you are notified in writing within 24 hours, or the same day where vulnerable people may be affected. We help identify the cause, such as calorifier settings, poor circulation or heat gain in cold water pipework, and recommend the right remedial action to restore control.

Showers and spray outlets create the aerosols through which Legionella spreads, so they receive particular attention. We clean, descale and disinfect shower heads and hoses, typically every quarter. Thermostatic mixing valves are serviced and fail-safe tested to protect against scalding without compromising hygiene. Little-used outlets are flushed weekly. Where your own staff carry out flushing, we provide a simple recording method and check the records, so there are no gaps.

Every task is recorded digitally, giving you a complete, auditable logbook. Monthly reports show tasks completed, any readings outside the acceptable range, access failures, outstanding actions and performance against agreed KPIs. Access failures are reported within one working day so that they can be resolved quickly. On request, all your records are available in the format your organisation uses, ready for audit, insurers or enforcing authorities.

Legionella risk rises when buildings are empty or lightly used. School holidays, vacant properties, office closures and seasonal sites all allow water to stagnate. We adapt your monitoring programme for these periods by maintaining flushing and temperature control, and we support safe reoccupation with system flushing, checks and, where needed, sampling before people return.

Monitoring is delivered by trained operatives from Legionella Control Association member organisations. Every operative is named, vetted and verified before attending your sites, and all work is managed and quality-assured by Stravica. You get one point of contact, consistent standards across every location and full visibility of your compliance status.
