Environmental & Sustainability Policy

Stravica Ltd is committed to delivering water hygiene services that protect public health and the environment together. We prevent pollution, use water responsibly, minimise waste and reduce carbon, without ever compromising Legionella control. Our environmental management arrangements are aligned to ISO 14001 principles.
Scope: All Stravica activities and every service delivered on our contracts by our delivery partners, laboratories and suppliers across England, Scotland and Wales.

• Safe discharge: Chlorinated water from tank and system disinfection is always neutralised and tested before release to the foul sewer, never to surface water drains or watercourses.
• Responsible water use: Flushing and disinfection use only the water that hygiene requires. Our risk assessments identify dead legs, redundant outlets and oversized storage that can be removed, which cuts water use for good.
• Pollution prevention: Minimum chemical quantities on site, secure transport, drain covers and spill kits on every disinfection task.
• Waste duty of care: Tank sediment, chemical containers, removed pipework and WEEE are segregated and handled only by registered carriers, with metals recycled.
• Protecting wildlife: Roof spaces and plant rooms are checked for bats and nesting birds before work begins.
• Carbon: Emissions measured using the GHG Protocol and UK Government conversion factors, and reduced through local operatives, route planning and digital records.

• Zero pollution incidents on Stravica contracts.
• 100% of disinfection tasks with a recorded pre-discharge dechlorination test.
• 100% of waste movements with valid documentation and verified carriers.
• At least 90% of non-hazardous waste from remedial works diverted from landfill.
• 100% digital records, with no paper logbooks.
• Net zero by 2045, measured against a baseline set in our first full financial year.

• Water and energy saving opportunities identified in every risk assessment, where they are consistent with Legionella control.
• Pre-discharge verification records and completion certificates for every disinfection.
• Environmental data and incidents included in contract reporting.
• Environmental social value outcomes mapped to your framework.

We expect:

• A current environmental policy, with preference for ISO 14001 certification.
• Documented dechlorination, discharge verification and spill response procedures.
• Waste carrier registration where waste is carried.
• Data on mileage and waste to support our carbon reporting.

• The Director is accountable for environmental performance and owns our carbon commitments.
• Environmental controls are checked during quarterly site audits of delivery partners.
• Performance is reviewed quarterly, with a formal annual management review.
• We will publish a Carbon Reduction Plan following our first full financial year.
